Master Wang, Members of the Tasmanian Buddhist community, Distinguish Guests, It’ s an absolute honour to see four (at least four) guests who come from the People's Republic of China. Welcome! It’ s just as a great honour to hear a message from the Consulate in Melbourne representing the PRC. Arguably China is Australia's most significant relationship in a country over about 40 years since the establishment of diplomatic relation, has become perhaps our greatest culture, social, strategic and the economic partner. So to see guests travel all the way from the People's Republic of China is indeed a great honour. So, thank you very much. If I can associate myself ever so briefly with amounts speakers' comments about Master Wang. Master Wang, you are truly one of the most eminent leaders in Tasmania. And we owe you a great deal of gratitude. You helped as leader not only spiritually but also in very practical ways, and leadership is something we need in this state. At any time, there are people who suffer difficulties, who under pressure. At the moment , there are people suffering in all sorts of ways. This sort of leadership you bring to the community - not just the Buddhist community, but the entire community, is certainly greatly appreciated. So thank you very much. |
